Entering The Unknown

The Christmas festivities are drawing to an end and I find myself contently enjoying time off work and living those in between days before we wave goodbye to yet another year and say hello to a brand new one. As I sit here writing this, I am reminded by the movements of arms and legs in my belly, of all the change that awaits me in the new year. At some point within the next 5-7 weeks I will become a mother. 'My life will change forever' - is a phrase I am hit with often.

Maternity Wear - Christmas Eve to Day

There is endless advice out there on how to dress for your body shape, how to dress for an hour glass figure, a pear-shaped figure etc. However, one thing I have recently discovered, is that no one tells you how to dress for a spherical figure! What do you do then? At 34 weeks pregnant, rocking my new continually expanding ball-like body & the festive season upon us, I found myself asking this very question! To find very little of an answer!

The Second Trimester

Tomorrow marks my 33rd week of pregnancy, I am a fair few weeks into my third trimester and feeling/looking huge! Which means writing up about all I experienced in the second trimester is well overdue! I've been rather rubbish at documenting my pregnancy and didn't make notes of my symptoms as they were happening which meant I had to rack my brain to remember the little things. I have learnt my lesson however and have already got a loooong list ready for the third trimester update, which who knows, I may even get round to writing before the baby is born!

A Pre-Birthday Weekend

It is my 24th birthday tomorrow (Monday) and as I will be at work, there won't be much room for celebrating, so we've pretty much spent the weekend in birthday mode. Saturday night we enjoyed a meal out with family to celebrate both mine and Ash's birthday as his was on Wednesday.

The First Trimester

This is going to be a long one - if you're generally not into baby/pregnancy stuff you should probably skip this one.

As of tomorrow I will be 22 weeks pregnant, as you may notice from the developed bump pictured above. So I've been in my second trimester for a while now and figured I had better write this, before I forget all that happened/enter the third trimester.

Time seems to be going by at an alarming rate now, despite those first 12 weeks feeling like forever. The anticipation to tell everyone our news really ensured that reaching that first scan felt like the longest wait of our lives. Christmas will be here before we know it and our boy will be arriving not long after.

6 months later...

Where did the time go? It's been half a year since I last wrote on this little space and a lot has happened in that time.

The first three months were mostly occupied with work and getting through the final term, then I became busy readying myself for our first holiday in 4 years! I've also spent a fair few of these months avoiding writing anything on here as all I wanted to talk about, was the one thing I couldn't talk about!

Getting Dirty with Smoke Barbecue

When the email subject titled - 'Chelsea do you want to get dirty?' popped up in my inbox, it most definitely caught my attention! On opening the email, I was pleasantly surprised to find an invitation to Smoke Barbecue's blogger event in Leeds for myself and a guest. I had heard lots about our local Smoke Barbecue in Sheffield and had been wanting to try it out for a while, so this was as good a chance as any to see what Smoke was all about.

Banyan Bar and Kitchen Harrogate | Review

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely folks over at Arc Inspirations, who asked if I would be interested in reviewing Banyan Bar and Kitchen in Harrogate. If you read my previous review of Banyan Bar & Kitchen York then you will know I was originally meant to attend an event to see the new refurb in Harrogate. As this didn't quite go to plan, it was super lovely of Arc Inspirations to invite me back to visit the new refurb and try out their new menu.

The Alchemist | Leeds

Finally!! After literally years of wanting to experience The Alchemist, that I have heard so much about and seen a million dreamy looking photos of cocktails from… Finally, it was our turn to see what the fuss was all about! and what I can say is that we were definitely not disappointed! At Christmas, we were very kindly gifted by Ash's sister and brother in-law, a trip to The Alchemist in Leeds, as our joint present. They knew how much we had wanted to try out the place, after they had visited on a few occasions and told us how great it was, yet also very rightly knew we would never think to spend money on ourselves with a trip like this and so thought they would do it for us.

Banyan Bar & Kitchen York | Review

Last week I was contacted via Twitter and asked if I would be interested in reviewing a newly refurbished restaurant in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Up until this point I had never been contacted for anything as a result of having this tiny little blog and I was rather giddy to have been invited to my first event. I received the invite on Tuesday to attend the exclusive pre-launch event on the Wednesday and I was slightly disheartened as it would be difficult making the hours drive North after work mid-week. However I decided I needed to seize the opportunity and make the trip and maybe just be a tad tired for work the next day.

Twenty Sixteen

Blogging in 2015? Well there wasn't a great deal of it, mostly once a month for roughly eight months and this is the first time I have written anything on here since October, so I apologise in advance for the wordy post but we have two months to catch up on here. I'd like to promise myself that I'll do more of it this year, but I'm not going to do that. Most of the time the reason I don't blog - or the main reason for the past year, was that I didn't feel I had anything interesting to blog about. So rather than saying I will blog more this year, a more important aim I feel is to make my life more interesting in this new year and maybe from that more blogging will occur - who knows!
